FDVBSTC Game 8 Result

Here are the players' points from the SportsTAB Benefit Match at the
WACA on Sunday:

Razzaq 4 200
Clarke 4 85
Afridi 4 75
Youhana 5 72
Naved 3 71
McGrath 4 63
Symonds 3 58
Gilchrist 5 57
Younis 4 36
Khalil 2 35
Martyn 4 34
Malik 3 31
Inzamam 4 29
Ponting 5 29
Salman 4 20
Yasir 4 12
Katich 3 10
Lee 3 9
Hayden 5 6
Gillespie 4 -6
Hogg 4 -21
Iftikhar 2 -57

There's something you don't see every day - four Pakistanis joinging
the ubiquitous Clarke at the top of the list. The best possible legal
lineup cannot be the first five, since they exceed the rating linit by
1 point, but replacing Youhana with McGarth gives a 19-pt lineup
yielding 494 points, third best in 8 games so far.

The day's winner is the same tipster who was runnig backwards at the
start of the tournament: Darryl, whose lineup was Gilchrist, Symonds,
Clarke, Razzaq and the idle Akmal. Razzaq players are, naturally,
prominent on the merit list, but Anil may well rue having him in his
squad but inactive. And the bottom of the list is not a typo - I had
Hogg and Iftikhar to thanks for dragging me almost into the red.

Rtg Score
Darryl Gore 19 400
Geoff Muldoon 19 372
Michael Seth 19 354
Pip 19 349
Lenin Maran 19 307
Anil K Goel 19 284
Rick Eyre 19 207
Shatadal 18 203
Allan Lazrado 19 157
Harish Cherukuri 17 155
Peter the Vezper 18 155
Andrew Mc 19 143
Adam Harvey 19 117
John Darcy 19 5

Overall standings: Upheaval! Michael Seth surges into the lead after
Andrew's ordinary result. Darryl climbs the ladder further, and I
start slippinginto my more natural place of repose.

Tipster B Rtg Points +-
1 Michael Seth 18.1 1626 +3
2 Andrew Mc 35 18.5 1556 -1
3 Rick Eyre 17.9 1540 -1
4 Adam Harvey 60 18.5 1448 -1
5 Geoff Muldoon 40 19.0 1386 +2
6 Harish Cherukuri 75 18.0 1312
7 John Darcy 100 18.3 1176 -2
8 Anil K Goel 50 18.4 1118 +1
9 Shatadal 17.9 1060 -1
10 Darryl Gore 18.4 1047 +1
11 Pip 18.6 990 +1
12 Lenin Maran 19.0 990 -2
13 Allan Lazrado 45 18.3 796
14 Peter the Vezper 17.6 721

Michael's lead is fairly healthy by the standards of this tournament
so far, but it is by no means over with either 3 or 4 games to play.
Michael's big advantage, as I'm sure he knows, is that he has used
only 8 players so far, giving him great flexibility to select a lineup
for the finals matches.
