Lara to ReclaimThe Batting Record?

Although distasteful to me, he seems poised to do it. Appropriately against
England, where he set the record earlier on, on a flat pitch with no result.
It seems unlikely again that there will be a result in this match. I still
believe that records in drawn matches should not count. Mind you, I don't
believe the current record is any indication of status in cricket overall.

Most aggregate records are meaningless. Play enough games and you will break
the records.

So all Stuart MacGill has to do is play enough Tests and he will break
the WR score for a batsman.

Any idea how many he would be required to play to do that?

At least the record is against a Test side that has won some matches.

Hope he gets it

Agree. I was happy for Haydos when he got it, but let's face it, the
record deserves to be against someone other than Zimbabwe. I dread the
day someone scores 500 against Bangladesh.

Unless that record is held by an Australian of course.

He was referring to an Australian you dipstick, not Lara.
