Katich

So why wouldn't Ponting give Katich an over or 2? If he's not going to get a
bowl on a 5th day wicket, then he shouldn't be in the team, as he's not one
of the best 6 batsmen in the country.

cheers,

On day3 of the Test, Katich was fielding near the boundary and a few
spectators were being boisterous and calling for Katich to have a bowl,
Katich turned to these spectators and told them he didn't want to bowl.

Now I was nearby when this happened and my immediate thought was he was
being very negative and his body language suggested that he was down on
confidence. There is another answer in that his previous hand injury maybe
still inhibiting him from bowling properly but to be honest, my gut feeling
was he is down on confidence and I think his batting in this Test belies
that belief.

Alvey replied to an earlier post that he believes his wrist injury hasn't
healed.
