Sorry about ruining your country with my travalogue.
YOU can also help by removing any reference to

It starts with removing or changing your sig "NZed"

Joking?
Your post, cut and pasted from my NZ images thread:
-----
"Pleased to hear you enjoyed your trip...but hey dont go telling too many
people ....we dont want half of the US coming down here.....we already have
problems with large tracts of land being bought up."

Now that was a nice comment!!
Where in that do you convey you are "joking"?

Then you post the one below.

Still joking eh!

Yet you post surf reports and conditions all about your country and sign
them "NZed" and "Paradise"

So what do expect?
Kind of a double standard isn't it?
Go figure.
I still think it is moronic
Enough said.

If it wouldn't be too much. My wife and I are inches away from booking

June? Avg wave size?

Re: Hey OB...no more talk of NZ...because

It varies depending on where you are in the country and the direction of the
swell.
In general norther you go the warmer.
top half of the North Island....you can use a 2mm / 3mm wetsuit
North Island South ...3mm/4mm wetsuit...booties
South Island south....booties, gloves and helmet.
If you are passing Wellington drop me a line...I can show you the breaks on
the southcoast.....hopefully we will have some surf.

Depends entirely on what part of the country and which coast you'll be
heading for.

have about 16 days including travel.

I appreciate any money saving suggestions before we book this. LAX to
Auckland, rental car, accomodations, etc. We are not the all inclusive
types and will probably circle the north island once or twice. (Looks
like a great exchange rate no?)

But of course, the waves decide. :-)

If you drove non stop it woiuld take you 16 days just to go around te
north island only. It is a LOT bigger than it looks. One cheap option
would be to get a small caravan and stay at the surf places. Diesel
would be te go as petrol is like 8 bucks a gallon here.

On da north island, statistically M**** P******** as the most waves and
offshore days. Really it should take a month minimum just to *see* all
a tha north Island at a fast pace at that.

If you can stand the cold- the southern half a te south island gets te
biggest most consistent surf.

Te book Feigle suggest is pretty good.

Best bet would see in dat book where statistically has the biggest
swell and offshore days for the month your goin and go hang out that
spot.

If your goin south island i think dere is non stops to wellie and maybe
christchurch.

roads ntin like Cali so it takes *forever* to drive anywere.

dont letem know your a yank- they hate yanks. just dont open you mouth
when ya talk and dont move yer chin and say gday mate with kinda a head
bob to teh whiteys and grday bro to the maori boys. yell find the maori
boys appreciate a hello and show dem lots a respect.

Tom...if you dont mind me asking ...do you have a budget for how much you
would like to spend ie per day.
I could work out some options
eg camping, backpackers hostels, campervans, bed and breakfasts, motels,
hotels....
transport , car hire, van or campervan

Personally if you can rough it ...hire a van or if you can afford it a
campervan.

The rewards are camping out at remote surfing spots.
Campervans are NZ$120 plus per day ...but I will confirm exactly as they
sometimes have specials in winter.

You bring back memories Awe. Ah, the days gone by of Cortical, a Ca.

That subject generated some long threads. I posted something like you

why florida, Surff?

Some of us here want bodysurfing waves, which F. rarely provides,
as it's mostly longboarding mush.

How 'bout retiring to Mexico?

Set me up with a place I can park my VW bus and a tent overhang deal
or parachute and biking distance from a bar.

I'll be your bitch, Surff!

no what you talking bout willis? is this some kinda lame attempt to try
in vain to wind me up or you back on that crack pipe agin bro?

Lanzarote is part a spain, which is part of the EU so i dont follow
about getting kicked out?

If ya did sthin bad enough to get kicked out of spain you would enup in
jail.

FWIF Indo as a whole and Bali in particular has warmer watr and bettr
waves all year round that *anywhere* I ever been. Indo has the best
waves in the world IMO.

Anyways- todays report. No wind at dawn. Size in the 2 foot overhead
plus.

Arch and i had it to ourselves the first 45 minutes then Jeff from da
big island paddled out. hes actually quite a nice guy and day for
yesterday handled himself very well in the bigger stuff.

The rights were on fire today and we got quite a few. Then a pack a
brazillians paddled out but were very nice and polite.

Got quite a few good long rides. Arch and I have a discussion question
for the brainiacs out there-

afta brekkie the wind still hopefully still and wes out agin

We noticed that the inside wave breaks about 3 times as many waves per
session as the outside waves.

1. Is it the same at your break?

2. Whay issit like dat?

April was occasionaly massive & fairly consistent along the east coast

Lots of swells arriving from Sid Ifrica's way lately for the south &
west & nor west coasts, never too far away this time of year ;-)

Hey! I thought it was to lure the hungry grommets and tourists in so I

we had this conversation before- after 87 bundy and cokes :-) for *me*
i like only warm water and somewhere you can be *sure* to get waves
*every* day eh. Like if you work all year round and have only 2 weeks
holiday where to go to be totally sure you will get surf every day
without 600 guys in teh water. NO disrespect to the gld coast here eh
jes personal preference.

GC has a lot moe to offer in other ways than indo does.

July may see us go to tahiti to check the new house and maybe back here
in august-

sept school holiday may be a 2 week trip to tuscanny or sail the

A prop, you know, from the movies. You can't make documentaries about
middle earth without lots of props. But they always have trouble with
the helmets and headgear, they're forever going on about loose head
props and tight head props. The loose ones never seem to hold their
bindings in the battle scenes.
