How To Build A Gun

Hey all, I saw some stuff on YouTube.com with homemade airsoft guns,
which looked like modified pump squirt guns. I was wondering if you
guys could assist me with instructions for building one of these, with
reasonable barrel FPS, i.e. 150-300 FPS?

Thanks to all

I have run across a host of forums and websites on building airguns. I'd
start out by mining those first. It's pretty hard to walk someone
through building a gun from scratch in this particular medium

huh, funny, I couldn't really find any sites with "bulding airsoft",
etc. Could you forward some sites?

Thanks!

I do not think you will easily find one for building an airsoft gun
specifically, but there is lots on building pneumatic and airguns, so
start with that and adapt as needed. The only difference is the caliber
and pressure required (less for airsoft, I imagine)
Check rec.crafts.metalworking. There was a recent thread on that with
links. Also I think it was discussed recently on the Practical
Machinist web forum.

Yes, now that I think about it, an airgun or pneumatic gun would also
be a lot more fun :-)

But is there any way that I could modify it to shoot airsoft, but not
so hard that it would go through someone's finger? I want to play with
a couple of guys in my neighborhood, and I don't want to buy one on
line or anything.

Thanks again

Well, I haven't ever played with one, but they are so cheap in the
stores I can't imagine why you'd want to build one. But if you did, all
you have to do is control the air pressure, and that's easy.
