Left my boom at 3rd Ave

Got home this evening and eventualy motivated to unload and _no boom_
major d'oh! moment. Must have been the 2 hours hanging on for dear life
this afternoon in the Gorge-like wind we were having addled my brain -
certainly turned my arms into noodley appendages. Should have rigged my
3.7 after all - more please!

North Boom A+ with yellow boom bra and windsurf hawaii fixed lines. Six
pack of your choice and good karma if you picked it up and are will let
me come and pick it up.

Re: Left my boom at 3rd Ave

Sorry to hear you left your boom... but yes, 3rd was epic today!!!
Hell yeah!!!

FYI, for all you bay area sailors who want to get wet tomorrow, make
the trip down to 3rd, and the forcast for tomorrow is similar. It was
going off today... 4.0 wind, big swell on the outside, huge ramps...
bring the small stuff.

sailed 4.2 combat and 69 Real World Wave. Hopefully, I'll use the same
stuff tomorrow. best day of sailing i've had in awhile.

Re: Left my boom at 3rd Ave

Kev, glad you scored. I was there last week in 5.2 winds and there wasn't
much terrain in the channel. So it sounds like good-ramp threshold is
sub-5.2.

Re: Left my boom at 3rd Ave

Hugh,

In my experience, 3rd ramps are a combination of wind and tide. Last
week was a flood week and this week is an ebb week. (Basically.)
Otoh, when the wind is blowing like it was yesterday, the tide don't
matter! Lordy that was sweet!

Re: Left my boom at 3rd Ave

Hugh,

3rd avenue is all about tides. Ebb tide is best and the bigger the
better. More wind just sweetens the deal.

I remember last year on a big ebb day around this time of year it was
blowing 30+ and swell was easily pushing 10'+. The biggest I have seen
it at 3rd in the 4 years I have been sailing there. Swell can really
pile up just off the channel marker.

Not sure who this was today but their timing was great.

Was killing myself for getting stuck at work all day...

Looks like its setting up for the same tomorrow.
