|Nene-led Brazilians play U.S.|
"We need this spot at the Olympics," said Brazilian point guard
Leandrinho Barbosa, picked in the first round of the 2003 NBA draft by
the San Antonio Spurs, and then traded to the Phoenix Suns.
"Of course they've got a much stronger team now," Barbosa said. "These
guys are very experienced."
"I'm not intimidated," Nene said. "Outside the court they are idols,
but inside we are all professionals."
"We will play by our own rules, and I hope everything goes just fine,"
he said. "More than ever what we seek is victory. We are keeping our
hopes up. It will be difficult, but not impossible."
