Happy Birthday Henry Bivens

Im sure many on this group remember Henry Bivens..Wednesday was his birthday.
I happened to catch site of his obit within a picture on my wall, and it made
me think of times and dives with Henry. I grabbed a pic I have and I video of
us on a zoo load and watched... It brought back some memories..
This is my first of Henry and one of my fondest..
I met Henry on my about my 10th skydive, 6 or 7 yrs ago. He was my RWI
instructor at SDI, Id have to hit my log book for the exact jump number or
exactly what we were supposed to work on. I will say in the middle of the
jump he made it memorable and weird...and most importantly relaxing and aware.
The real fun came in on the debrief and after. We chatted about the dive and
became friends. He was a great mentor and showed me the ropes just right..
About a week before his untimely death, while grounded due to injury, my now
wife had Henry teach her the tandem class for her first jump. Pete did a great
job taking her tandem, I would have enjoyed it being Henry though.
I look foreward to flying with him again when the time comes...
Just my thoughts and memories, Happy Birthday

Henry was my S/L Jm once during my student progression in the mid 80's. I
can't tell you how many times him and I have partyed together!
