(Way) OT - How do ex vice-presidents fly when they can't get a lift on Air Force One?

In first class on Singapore Airlines.

I just sat behind Dan Quayle on SQ 11 from LAX to NRT.

Really nice guy, believe it or not.

I don't think anyone ever said he wasn't nice, just that he wasn't very bright.

I know someone who works for the USDA inspecting arriving international flights for
pests (of the insect kind). He once got a corporate or charter jet with Quayle as a
passenger. He also said he seemed nice enough, but Quayle did manage to step on his
foot. Maybe he just didn't realize there'd be one down there under the guy he was
talking to.

It would have been so tempting to say, "Excuse me sir, do you have any
potatoes onboard?"... <snicker >
