Well done Symonds

Missed seeing it as I was driving home from Melbourne but it sounded
something. Was very impressed with his bowling and its amazing what
confidence does for a player.

He played very well all off the middle and batted the way he needed to for
both himself and the team, will give him enough to make the next side and
now it's up to him.

this man Symonds is havoc he keeps coming back whenever anyone writes
him off . This time if he got golden duck he replaced it with wonderful
bowling display. Same thing he did in the second one-dayer against NZL
To me it was an awesome knock.

Re: Well done Symonds

i remember being happy he was included in that world cup at Ricky Pontings
insistence and happy to see him being given a go now at Test level...

when he fires, he certainly does fire.... shame that he's had a rough start
to his test career. lets hope that he can keep this up. and yeah, as someone
else mentioned about 'form'.. this guy either has it in spades, or zilch!

Yep, it was beautiful to watch, especially after a not so very productive
1st session.

Nice clean controll hitting
I can only recall them 'playing and missing' once each in thier p'ship, and
that was near the end with the declaration in sight

The two 6's off Nel were a treat to watch

For a non-strike bowler he hasn't really bowled that bad all summer, has
beaten the bat numerous times and anyone correct me if i'm wrong, has had
two catches dropped(c&b and slips v WI), and i know Lee did but i think Roy
also took a wk off a noball vs WI

finally decided to bat like he normally does instead of trying to bat like a
Test batsman.

He's a partnership breaker and also relieves the main bowlers. He's much
much like a young Steve Waugh. Good line and length and is picking up
the odd wicket. He's not like say Doug Walters or Mark Waugh who would
bowl mix bags to snare a wicket.

yeah ewll one day of brilliance does not a Test player make.

Next test lets see

1/69
12 runs (yes, dubious call but he was not alone)
Not bowled at all in the second innings despitse the selectors saying
he's in the team for his Bowling only.

Well, maybe he fire again but I think not.

But overall, look at his test figures prior to that

batting average 18-19 runs
bowling average was 1 wicket every 80 plus runs.

You really want to keep him to keep a talented player out.

He didn't, and he wont.

possibly Occasionally but then the rest of the team can carry him till
then so htat we all talk up his one offs and forget his failures.
