Bung's place in the XI

Why is there no mention of the Fantastic Freckle's recent returns?
Crikey! If any normal bowler had these returns then you'd need ear muffs.
Maybe that doesn't apply to sub-normal bowlers....

Last 5 innings returns.

O M R W
19 5 68 0 v BD
8 0 47 1 v BD
9 2 36 0 v BD
11 3 35 1 v BD
15 3 51 1 v Pommybastards

62 13 237 3

Average= horrible.9

didnt take you long, was missing all these posts so even fed you a line in
aus.cricket.

the answer is simple, he is an all rounder these days and his form in the
Ashes earns him a place in the side for a few more tests

Cause he can't get wickets.

LOL. I am sure almost all other teams would be happy to ahve him if
Australia doesn't want him. Speed like that is hard to come by

So what? Returns like that are terrible, Lee should be on notice.

This is right down there with that other idiot's recent statement about how
Clang was a better keeper than Healy because Clang's taller.

It's getting stupid, innit? He's inaccurate, can't swing the red ball,
has no movement off the pitch and bowls no faster than your pick of 10
or so FC bowlers in the country (at least 2 of which are part timers)
and yet he still gets the new ball.

I take my cap off to his efforts in the odo game in recent years, but
Brett Lee should not play test cricket. We're giving away runs and
it's embarrassing. McGrath and Clark with the new ball and let's get
some new blood in... Johnson's left handed, Tait actually bowls yorkers
and even Farken is worthwhile when there's some swing about... they
can't do any worse.

its beyond the joke really. i'm sure the poms are loving that fact he's
keeping out other bowlers who are genuine wicket takers. he isnt scary to
any of the batsman anymore, doesnt bowl to any sort of plan, and is so shit
with the new ball, even for NSW. Clark is one excellent bowler, no hype, no
shit, just gets the job done. needs to open the bowling for sure.

You could bring Damien Fleming out of the Nein box, and he might be
more effective than Bung at this stage.

[Bung's test average has finally crossed the 32 mark again - now 32.06
after D1]

At least a couple of the players have been pro-active in trying remove Lee
from the team. Hussey had a decent shot at it in the first Test, and it
looked like Langer was going to finish the job yesterday but pulled out at
the last second.

Thommo at times was quite innocuous but generally gave the guy with the lump
of wood in his hand a bit of a hurry up. Lee's "duty cycle" seems to be the
opposite - generally innocuous, with occasional bursts of terror. He also
doesn't really look the part - seeing a relatively slightly-built blonde boy
looking up at the batsman giving him the eye... I dunno... If my sister did
it, it might be believable! Does Lee have a sister at all, or is Brett
Shane's sister?

It does beg the question why Aus did not pick him earlier
