Australia need............

Some advice on how to defend high scores? From someone? Anyone!

FFS this is getting ridiculous. Teams are gonna be lining up to put
Oz in and let them score 300+ , therefore becoming favourites.

400+ even ;-)

What could the problem be I wonder? No bottle?

When I was young, I had a board game called "Test Cricket.

The board was larger than the Hamilton ground.

If i was a selector i'd be having a pretty hard look at the old stager
who was the hero of the last world cup.
Even if he only helped to achieve an attitude change in the early
rounds Andy Bichel may be worth a nod.

In the days before computers it was right up there with Monopoly. But then
I was brought up on remote farms with only one little brother to play with.
I remember playing it until Scrabble was invented. Then Scrabble became my
favorite we moved to the city and I started playing cricket for real.

If it was anything like the Hamilton pitch of the past few years, I expect
it eventually fell apart and had to be replaced.

Its pretty simple. When Australia score over 300 the other side doesn't
really expect to win and all the pressure goes off them and they can swing
the bat without fear especially on smaller grounds. Also add the fact that
they are bowling absolute shit...............

And for the QCCCCCC...when Lee gets back we will see a different bowling
attack with the deadly Lee wiping the smiles of the batsman's faces

btw: maybe you are devaluing the Kiiws efforts in this series and more
credit to them

In the past 18 months Australia has scored 300+ batting first against NZ on
five occasions:

Wellington 05/06: Aus 322/5 NZ 320
Christchurch 05/06: Aus 331/7 NZ 332/8
Perth 06/07: Australia 343/5 NZ 335/5
Auckland 06/07: Australia 336/4 NZ 340/5
Hamilton 06/07: Australia 346/5 NZ 350/9

Thus your analysis is hugely simplistic, and also rather patronising. If
Australia can score 300+ on merit, why can't NZ in the same conditions,
without this 'no pressure' waffle?

And looking at the scores above, why would NZ not expect to win?

As for small grounds, the second-highest scoring match in that list was
Perth.

You've just done the same thing yourself.
