She married you, so what's _her_ sanity quotient?? I have found that when
they question your sanity it's cos you ain't gonna do something that they
want you to do. That don't mean you're crazy, it just means you don't want
to do it. When a W/GF/SO/BdeJ* wants something ( as in "I can't wait until
we sell this house and buy another one" or something like that ) which bears
no relation to your finances, your needs or anything but what one of her
utterly whacked out friends mentioned over margaritas last week and you
don't want to buy said item, wayull......

All of us...heee..... consider that question, who you're asking about it. I
take it back, you may be crazy after all.

Name somebody here who is coming across as completely sane all the time.

C'mon, just one.

Good luck........... my suggestion is take her to a high class dinner. That
generally cools off the 'you're insane, you know' comments for a while.

I think the group therapy sessions (is it ok to use the
word 'sessions'?) on AS are working just fine.

Tell her that we've decided you are crazy and we've
decided to put you on medication.

Take one surf sessoin daily followed by a decent meal, a couple

I kinda gave up on him when he started the mysto jive. Reminded me too much
of Reverend Ike on late night AM radio back around 1975.

It's all about the money. Save your soul, quantity discounts available.

Worth askin'. Dark alleys near said restaurant have so little savoir faire,
and the resident junkies and winos as an audience do tend to put a damper on
things.

And forget about parked cars. The old question 'where's a cop when ya need
one'? They are out looking for cars with steamed up windows and a free show
before the shakedown. Again, it's all about the money.

And then there's high class places that'll serve you dinner in a private
room, one table. Or a hotel with really good room service.

Oh, X....what a dilemma. Do you need the services of a mental health
professional or don't you? I'm sitting thinking about myself. I'm at
the age where I should be thinking of slowing down, retirement and
knitting (not necessarily in that order). Instead my latest pipe
dream was surfing in Nigeria (bad idea) and the one a few hours ago
after coming back in from a stormy, churning gray-ocean surf was "I
wonder how good I could get at this if I put in the same amount of
time and energy that I did in swimming?'

If you go see someone, maybe I should come with you.

product of what we hope is informed speculation ) are all of us. Maybe.
Maybe not, alt surfing may be the product of less twisted minds than we
think. Maybe somebody has come up with a somewhat warped Turing Machine.

And then ya got lurkers. Maybe. Out there, periscopes up but under the
radar, running silent. Or not, how can you tell?

But when you come right down to it, it's all speculation. Even with those we
see in person, that we think we know. Consider, oh...the lovely and talented
Mrs. XPEH for instance. You think you know something about her , quite a lot
about her and all of a sudden she starts telling you that she thinks your
marbles are chipped and need to go in for a repair or six. .

"Uh, gee", you think to yourself..."where the hell did THAT come from? " And
you don't know. You don't know either if it's your marbles that are chipped
or hers- there isn't a thermometer of sanity - "Okay, Charlie, this one's at
117 degrees, whack him with some lithium". Nah. It's somebody else that sez
whether you're nuts or not and it's opinion.

Kinda puts a chip or two in the ol' comfort level. You do a search for
'mental health standards' and I just came up with over 450,000 listings.
Can't all agree, can they.....

Doc, when was the last time you heard Mount Doctor? I, myself, prefer
Mount Baldy. Btw, I have a 1975 Reverend Ike "Prayer Rug" for sale if
you are interested.

All of the above. Anyone who calls himself "horseradish" has got to be
a bit eccentric. And the fact that you insist on top-posting means you
are definately an obstinate self-centered anti-social person. So, yes,
you need help. But finding it is a different matter. All shrinks are
whacko. It's part of the job description. What you need is a guru. An
old geezer with a ton of common sense and patience to match. Someone
who's spent his life getting good at something, like a woodcarver, or
a truck mechanic. Someone who will let you bend their ear, then tell
you to shut up, buy a bottle of wine and a pretty greeting card and
stop worrying about it.

Seems to me your Tourette's Syndrome is much improved of late. The
general coherence of your prose has likewise improved considerably
from the argle-bargle days of a year or so ago. You still seem kind of
wacked to me, and I mean that in the best possible sense. You
routinely navigate some pretty hallucinatory terrain around AS and
that's one of the things I like about you. Of all of us, your wifey's
the only one who knows you in meatspace, so I'd take her opinion more
seriously than the rest of us. Ask her to document and elaborate upon
her observations, think about it, and get back to us.

Now that would be a lot of work, brother! I'd rather just make my
usual semi-thoughtful snide comments, if you don't mind.
