|Key Horse Picks: Friday August 12 2005|
Good morning, everyone --
I've six picks in three races today, Friday August 12. Register:
and see 'em all:
My free pick today:
Arlington Park 6th Race 6:19pm US Eastern Time
Rojo Sol #12 (ML 5-2) It took this filly 12 attempts to finally find
her niche in the racing world, which is running on the turf. Since
starting her the turf races, this 3-year-old filly can do nothing
wrong, but she can't win. In her last three races on the turf she has
finished second three times, losing those races by a total of only four
lengths. Although she has had solid form on the turf, being stuck in
the 12 position today may be her downfall again. The addition of
blinkers and having Bridgmohan, Arlington's leading jockey in the
irons, may make up for this terrible post position.
No Bull #6 (ML 4-1) No Bull is a 3-year-old filly who has been
following Rojo Sol around like a little sister. In her last three
races, she also found some satisfaction in the game of horse racing by
running on the turf. The Rolling Stones sang "I Can't Get No
Satisfaction" and that has been the theme song for No Bull. In two of
her last three races, she's been behind Rojo Sol, finishing fourth and
third, while being only a half a length behind Rojo Sol in her last
attempt. In her last three races, her Beyers have improved: 56, 67, 68.
Rojo Sol's Beyers have been slipping down to 69 from 72.
Maybe today's better post position will help her run by Rojo Sol. Or
the steady increase in her Beyers will be enough for her to win.
If No Bull improves her Beyer again, she'll be in the 70s. That should
be enough to win today's race. If Rojo Sol's Beyer drop below 70,
that'll be enough to lose the race but to end up in the money.
The question, finally: will Bridgmohan and blinkers help her to win?
Or will No Bull's continued better Beyer numbers and her better post
position help her to win?
This looks like a two-horse race with Rojo Sol the favorite and No
Bull a long shot. I'll use each as a Key Horse within this race.

Best of luck today and always to everyone. To your Wealth!
